Description
This 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster is one of 1,858 roadsters built during a six-year production run and is one of 249 examples manufactured in 1960. It was owned by Hollywood film producer Ned Stone Tanen for over 20 years before it was purchased by the current owner in 2014. It subsequently underwent a mechanical refresh in the late 2010s and is said to have participated in three Copperstate 1000 rallies. The car is finished in red over tan leather upholstery, and power comes from a 3.0-liter M198 inline-six with Bosch direct fuel injection paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include an electronic distributor, an electric fuel pump, a four-wheel independent suspension with a low-pivot rear axle, servo-assisted finned drum brakes, a tan soft top, a heater, and a Becker Le Mans AM/FM radio. This W198 is now offered on dealer consignment with fitted luggage, service records, and a clean Arizona title in the name of the owner's trust.
