This 2011 BMW S1000RR was built as a Wunderlich product showcase bike by William Plam of Wunderlich America in Hendersonville, North Carolina, in 2012. The bike is called “MADUSA” in a nod not only to the German-built “MAD MAX” Wunderlich project bike that preceded it but to its assembly in the USA. The bike is powered by a liquid-cooled 999cc inline-four paired with a six-speed transmission and is finished in satin black with exposed carbon-fiber accents. Equipment includes a Piranha-conversion headlight fairing and side panels, an ABM aluminum handlebar, a Sportego aluminum top triple clamp, and Kellerman LED turn signals along with adjustable Öhlins suspension, an Öhlins steering damper, triple Brembo/Lucas Wave disc brakes, electronic fuel injection, and a Remus full titanium four-into-one exhaust system with a carbon-trimmed HexaCone silencer. The bike was acquired by its current owner in 2014, and service in the time since included replacement of the fuel pump assembly in 2022 and a brake flush and oil change in March of that year. This modified S1000RR is now offered on dealer consignment in Arizona with a clean California title in the owner's name.
