Description
This 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB is one of approximately 800 fiberglass-bodied vetroresina examples produced between 1975 and 1977 and was delivered new to Chinetti-Garthwaite Imports in Paoli, Pennsylvania. It is finished in Rosso Chiaro over tan leather and powered by a 2.9-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include 14″ Campagnolo wheels, a quad-exit exhaust system, electric windows, air conditioning, and a Panasonic cassette radio. The car underwent a Ferrari Classiche certification in 2016 and was acquired by the current owner in 2021. Service in anticipation of the sale included repairing the radiator and bumper, changing the fluids, and replacing the intake boot, coolant hoses, fuel lines, fuel filter, and air filter. This 308 GTB vetroresina shows 7,495 miles and is offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with recent service records, a tool kit, a Classiche “Red Book”, owner's manuals, sales invoices, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
The 308 GTB was introduced at the 1975 Paris Motor Show and featured Pininfarina-styled bodywork constructed of glass-reinforced plastic over a tubular steel chassis. Just 808 fiberglass-bodied vetroresina cars were produced by Carrozzeria Scaglietti before the switch to steel body panels in June 1977. This example is finished Rosso Chiaro (20-R-190). The front bumper undertray was reattached in March 2022.
