This 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 convertible was built on March 21, 1968, and delivered new to Yates-Stevens Ford of Kirkwood, Missouri. One of 402 GT500 convertibles produced for the model year, the car was listed on BaT in July 2020 and eventually acquired on BaT in February 2022 by the current owner, who performed a subsequent cosmetic refurbishment that included repairing rust, repainting the exterior in blue, and reupholstering the interior in white vinyl. Power comes from a 428ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and details include a power-operated white soft top, 15″ aluminum 10-spoke wheels, front disc brakes, and an AM radio. Service performed since 2020 included overhauls of the convertible top mechanism and the suspension, braking, power steering, and exhaust systems, while work under current ownership included replacing the starter, tires, and speedometer cable. This GT500 is now offered on dealer consignment with owner's manuals, a build sheet, a Deluxe Marti Report, service records, and a clean Oregon title.
