This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL was acquired by the current owner in November 2019 following a refurbishment that was completed approximately two years earlier at the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Irvine, California. Work included refreshing the brake, suspension, and steering systems as well as overhauling the four-speed manual transmission and replacing exhaust, cooling, fuel, electrical, and ignition system components. The car wears a repaint in gray over black MB-Tex upholstery, and it is powered by 2.8-liter inline-six. Additional equipment includes a black convertible top, a black removable hardtop, US-specification headlights, 14″ steel wheels, painted hubcaps, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and a heater. This W113 SL is now offered on dealer consignment in Portland, Oregon, with literature, records, refurbishment invoices, and a clean New Jersey title.
