This 1955 Mercedes-Benz 220 is one of 1,278 Cabriolet A models bodied by Sindelfingen Karosserie between 1951 and 1955. The car is said to have been acquired by the current owner prior to 2006 and was subsequently refurbished with work involving rust repairs, refinishing the body in black, and refreshing the interior in red leather upholstery. The car is powered by a 2.2-liter inline-six mated to a column-shifted four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top with chrome landau bars as well as 15” steel wheels with hubcaps, amber driving lamps, rear-hinged doors, and a Becker Mexico radio. Service performed in 2023 involved rebuilding the fuel pump and replacing the ignition coil and condenser. This W187 cabriolet is now offered on dealer consignment with manufacturer's literature, service records, refurbishment photos, a set of Karl Baisch luggage, and a clean Oregon title.
